What is the Responsible Commodities Sourcing Initiative?
The Responsible Commodities Sourcing Initiative (RECOSI) is a membership organisation, dedicated to guiding and supporting its members in their due diligence monitoring of supply chains, and supporting producers to enhance their environment, social, and governance (ESG) performance.
With a global reach, RECOSI has over a decade of experience, operating the international standard and assurance framework for coal – the Bettercoal Programme – since 2012, completing over 70 assessments across four continents.
Continually evolving to meet the needs of its members, RECOSI has expanded its work programme and is developing a new gas supply chain due diligence framework – the RECOSI Gas Programme.
The RECOSI vision
Our vision is to pave the way for environmentally and socially conscious supply chain management by cultivating a network of forward-thinking organisations dedicated to actively improving responsible commodity sourcing and supply chain management.
We do this through the development of sector-specific assessment and assurance programmes that monitor and evaluate ESG performance; with third-party verification at the core of our work.
Sector programmes
RECOSI is an international organisation with over a decade of experience in developing sector-specific standards and assurance programmes.
The RECOSI Gas Programme is working collaboratively to develop a standardised assurance framework for responsible gas supply chains.
