London – Responsible Commodities Sourcing Initiative (RECOSI) is pleased to welcome ENGIE S.A. as its newest member, strengthening our efforts to drive continuous improvement in responsible commodity sourcing.

ENGIE S.A. have joined RECOSI, an international initiative representing major European utilities who source energy commodities and work collaboratively to raise standards in their supply chains. As a RECOSI member, ENGIE will participate in the RECOSI Gas Programme. RECOSI has over a decade of experience working with companies, experts and stakeholders to develop sector-specific standardised assurance programmes, including its newest programme RECOSI Gas. Built around 12 guiding ESG principles, RECOSI Gas works to raise standards across the gas industry and supports members and producers in meeting growing regulatory requirements and implementing international good practices.

We are delighted to welcome ENGIE,” said Katie Warrick, Executive Director of RECOSI. “ENGIE’s decision to join RECOSI and our gas programme marks a key moment for our initiative. ENGIE is joining a community of stakeholders committed to raising standards in gas production, and ENGIE’s leadership in the sector and proactive stance on responsible sourcing aligns perfectly with our mission to improve the ESG performance of supply chains. We look forward to their contributions and collaboration as we continue building RECOSI Gas.”

ENGIE is a global leader in low-carbon energy and services, with operations in electricity, natural gas and energy services. Committed to sustainability and innovation in energy production and distribution, ENGIE joins RECOSI through its entity Global Energy Management and Sales (GEMS), which provides energy supply solutions and risk management services to support its clients through their decarbonisation journey, while optimising ENGIE’s assets and contributing to value creation. GEMS is one of the largest importers of gas in Europe and has a long-standing presence on all major hubs.

“As natural gas is needed for security of supply reasons, ENGIE is aiming for doing business with suppliers which are supporting us to source the gas in an ESG responsible way. Thus, we are looking forward to participating in further improving the ESG performance of the gas supply chains. With our peers as part of RECOSI, ENGIE remains committed for high standards of ESG performance and compliance with our vigilance plan” said Jerome Malka, Executive Committee member at ENGIE’s business entity ‘Global Energy Management & Sales’.
